Cherita, a fun form
Cherita for childhood
I tried to draw myself
A long time ago
I wore a parka
A parka is a pixie uniform
made by her mother
A parka makes angels into pixies
The Dead Poets Society met in a cave to read and share verse. This group is for poets who are very much alive, who have words running, pulsating through their veins. From an outside landscape that can be harsh and barren, we come together in this nurturing, verdant oasis; fellow wanderers, wonderers, sharing our words.

Thank you Fran for this fun form! It is one I haven't used before. I've been after it on the Net and discovered this: Cherita is the Malay word for story or tale. A Cherita consists of a single stanza verse, followed by a two-line verse, and then finishing with a three-line verse. It can be written solo or with up to three partners. The Cherita tells a story.
This is a web site that has a lot different short form poems, including quite a few Cherita.

They seem to all be quite visual. The definition says they tell a story, but the ones I read left the reader with a strong image as well.
We should try new forms every once in a while . . . it makes the mind take turns it might not have taken and thus produces different, interesting results.
