The kingdom of flesh and shadow

You are a tangled forest
which calls out to the explorer,
the discoverer,
to lay claim to the slant
of sinuous light that falls
across you
from the open window,
to part the leaves and vines,
wet with morning,
nd enter the kingdom of flesh
and your blessed shadow
which closes.

This poem has a wonderful feeling which carries all the way though it. . . rich and lush, like that sinuous light falling, slanted. Delicious. You could just eat this poem - with a very small spoon, taking tiny bites. You have a way with endings, as well, Mike, the part of the poem that is most difficult for many people. This one just sighs into beauty and is gone. And it works perfectly.

It is the eroticism that has me reading and re-reading this piece of candy. Bravo Ruhdwulf!
