The Flicker

For my mother who suffers from Alzheimer's.

From blue windows of your soul
I am reminded of heaven's gates
Where angels await
And though your spark dies hard
The blood that binds us
Boils harder
For love is thicker than fire.

“Love is thicker than fire” and interesting twist on a familiar thought. THIS I am always quoting, for it is a sterling truth of life - from Garth Books: “Blood is thicker than water, but love is thicker than blood.” (That’s for you T.E. Watson, wherever you are.)

I posted a comment a couple of days ago, but don't see it. Please forgive me if this is a duplicate. Christina,is there ever a flicker of recognition in your mothers blue eyes? Alzheimers is such a cruel thief.
